Course objective The training of persons who may be designated to perform the duties and responsibilities of the ship security officer.
Course content
- The International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code and SOLAS-74 amendments content
- Part A ISPS Code review, part B ISPS Code review, STCW Convention amendments
- Inspections, searches and dangerous substances and devices detection methods
- Search concept and its main points, search object and types, search situation conditionality, search tactical techniques
- Seizure specifics, documenting of search and seizure results, personnel, luggage and cargo inspection
- Recognition and detection of weapons, dangerous substances and devices
- General features of explosive substances and devices, homemade and standard explosive devices, explosive devices traps and surprises its signs
- Explosive devices detection methods, incendiaries
- Terrorism psychological aspects
- Groups of persons who require the special attention of ship security officer
- Crowd management techniques
- Protection measures against pirates, pirate attack prevention methods, general precautions, precautions onboard, in port, on anchorage
- Contingency plans for the case of: pirates detection, pirates invasion, pirates leaving after invasion
Entry requirements Every participant must be not younger than 18 and must have maritime education
